Congratulations to freshman Ashtyn Cole and senior Thomas Key, as they were the Attendance for Academic Success contest winners for February. Each student was awarded an AAS medallion and a $10.00 Dairy Queen gift card. AAS is sponsored by our Logan County Youth Services Center. All LCHS students qualify to win by having no unexcused absences on their attendance report, passing G.P.A.'s in all classes and no disciplinary issues during the specific time frame.
Students-Please remember you have five school days to submit written verification of an unexcused absence to the front office. After that, a truancy letter will be sent home at three unexcused days or six unexcused tardiness events. The school will contact a parent/guardian by phone at four unexcused days. At six unexcused days school officials will make a home visit prior to the Board of Education filing Truancy charges when a student has nine unexcused absences from school.
