The LCHS Marching Cougars competed in two competitions over the weekend. At the Butler County High School Marching Invitational, the band earned 1st place in Class 4A and were Reserve Grand Champions (2nd place overall regardless of class). In the Russellville Show of Bands, the band earned 1st place in Class 4A and were Reserve Grand Champions.


Beta Club induction is this evening beginning at 6:00, in the school’s Commons Area. Attendance is good for a Mandatory Point, providing refreshments will count as a Service Point. If you are a new Beta Club member and are not receiving the text alerts, you can find the code outside sponsor’s classrooms.


The LCHS Marching Cougars will host the LC Festival of Bands on 23 September. Eleven bands will be competing and the Marching Cougars will perform an exhibition march prior to the festival’s closing. Opening ceremonies are scheduled to begin at 4:45 pm. Admittance to the event is $5.


Applications are being accepted for the Logan County Tobacco & Heritage Festival Queen Pageant. The pageant is open to Logan County female students in grades 9-12. The winner is to receive a $1,000 scholarship. Applications are due by 21 September and are available in the Guidance Office.


FCCLA will meet 22 September, in Mrs. Morrow’s classroom. Dues are $18.

LCHS Blood Drive will be 30 October. For additional information, contact Ms. Richardson (YSC).

LC Baseball is selling Husky thermal drink tumblers for $25 each. The tumblers have Logan County Cougars on the side and are available in blue, black, silver, and pink. Tumblers will be available at LC home football games or you can contact Coach Meguiar.


Student Athletic Passes are being sold during lunch on Mondays. The $30 pass entitles LCHS students admittance into all LCHS 2017-18 regular season athletic events.


LC Academic Team practices Monday through Thursday 3:15 to 4:30 in room 214. See Mr. Harris for additional information.


Students for the Arts meet each Wednesday, in room 154, from 3-4pm.


The LCHS Music Department has received a grant to enable it to return to SKyPAC for its annual Christmas/Holiday concert. This year’s festivities will be held 05 December, beginning at 7:00. All families and friends are encouraged to come and join in the celebrations in this professional state-of-the-art venue. Admission is FREE and open to the public.


Extended School Services meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:10-4:10 in the school’s Library/ Media & Learning Center. Students must sign in and have assignments to do while attending ESS. Participants are expected to make their own arrangements for transportation home (should be available at 4:10).

To assist with the district’s curricular alignment, LCHS students will be dismissed at 1:00 on the following dates:  25 August, 17 November, 26 January, 16 February, 16 March, and 27 April.


All students will be expected to be in their designated parking spot with their parking pass visible.
