Logan County High School Beta Club held its new member induction service 19 September in the school’s Commons Area. At the ceremony 49 initiates were welcomed into the club.
The short induction service began with a welcoming from the club’s chapter and local district president, John Mark Page. This was followed by the Candlelight Induction Ceremony and an installation of new officers.
This year’s new members are as follows: Lindsay Allen, Thomas Bilyeu, Camden Bond, Bailey Borders, Bethany Borders, Ashlynn Canler, Cheyenne Carter, Gracie Christian, Penelope Coles, Brea Croslin, Caroline Davenport, Caitlyn Epley, Onahka Fuller, Morgan Gafford, Hannah Goss, Lyndsey Gregory, Ethan Haley, Hayley Hallman, Jay Hardison, Jaden Hayes, Rylee Hobbs, Elijah Hopkins, Shaina Johnson, Chase Kie, Chely Lester, Kira Lowe, Hannah Matthews, Mary Mayhugh, Elizabeth McGinnis, Micah Page, Nicholas Petrie, Lauren Pitts, C.J. Raymer, Rhonda Reeves, Grace Richardson, Leah Richmond, Jenna Robertson, Briley Robinson, Hayley Schweers, Jake Shoemake, Skylar Stewart, Makayla Strode, Lucas Taylor, Brooke Thomas, Peyton Vanzant, Justyce Warden, Chloe Watkins, Gracie Wharton, and Addie White.
New officers installed at the meeting are as follows: President—John Mark Page, Vice President—John Hendricks, Secretary—Kennedy Campbell, Treasurer—Bella Bond, Reporter—Tristan Taylor, and Parliamentarian—Tanner Morrow and Cheyenne Nash.
The National Beta Club is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America. For more than 80 years it has had as its mission the promotion of ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.
Each local Beta Club has a unique set of membership requirements. At LCHS, members must maintain a minimum 94% scholastic average, be of good character, and perform hours of community service. LCHS Beta Club sponsors are Julie Cox, Jill Thomas, and Nichole Miller.
