I was born in West Virginia (Let's Goooo Mountaineers!) , but grew up in northeast Ohio (O-H-I-O!). I graduated from Tusky Valley High School were I played multiple sports, but excelled in wrestling.
I graduated from Ohio Valley College (Vienna, WV) with a degree in physical education and played NCAA D-II soccer for the Fighting Scots. While I was in college I also worked for the Boys & Girls Club of Pleasants County as the Sports, Fitness, and Recreation Coordinator.
After graduating I moved to Kentucky to teach PE at Hopkinsville Middle School and was also the Head Wrestling Coach for the high school while living in Russellville.
I was offered the position of Head Women's Soccer Coach and Sports Information Director at my alma mater (now named Ohio Valley University) and returned to WV to coach. I married my wife Sara right after the soccer season ended and we decided to moved back to Bowling Green at the end of the school year.
I taught PE for 3 months at Memorial Elementary in Hart County before taking a position at Drakes Creek the following year. I was hired the next year as the ESL teacher and head soccer coach at Warren East High School and Middle School. I also coached track & field at WE for 5 years. I moved over to Moss Middle School and have taught the Newcomer ESL class for the last 6 years. I started a NASP archery team for Moss Middle School and Warren Central High School during the 2018-19 school year.
I am a health and wellness advocate. My wife and I are very active people and love to spend time outdoors in nature and traveling whenever we can. I enjoy watching and playing sports, mountain biking, canoeing, fishing, and making videos in my free time. I also occasionally work at Vertical eXcape Climbing Center in the summer and enjoy climbing when I can. We have two dogs, Collin and Ruby.
