Hello! My name is Staci Hughes, and I will be starting my 18th year teaching this year (wow, really doesn't feel like that many). I am from Paris, Tennessee, and moved to Auburn in 2000 for a teaching job. I have lived here ever since. I love this area because it is so centrally located to everything! My husband is from Auburn, and we live on the family farm with our two children. My husband attended Auburn School, and now our children continue the tradition. 

I am a graduate of Murray State University and Western Kentucky University. I have a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and a Masters and Rank I in Elementary Counseling, and even spent three years as an elementary school counselor before being drawn back to the classroom after missing it so much. I have taught fourth grade, third grade, and now kindergarten. I always feel that I am teaching my favorite grade level, regardless of what grade I am currently teaching. I love them all, although I think kindergarten is lots more fun and challenging and shows the most student growth (those little babies grow up so quickly in just one school year)!

My philosophy is if you respect the children, they will respect you. Listen to them, have fun with them, and stay positive! I am an eternal optimist!
