My name is Josh Owens and its hard for me to believe that I am entering my 12th year of teaching students. I teach in collaboration settings in the 6th and 7th grades along with teaching middle school System 44 and I am very proud to be a part of Auburn School. Much of this pride is because I get to work students who work so hard at being successful life-long learners; they know that they have bright futures ahead and they take the positive steps each day to make sure that they acheive their goals. Another part of the pride I have of teaching here is that I work with parents, faculty and staff, and community members as well who care about each student's future and daily successes here at Auburn and go to great lengths to help students to their best everyday!
On the academic side, I have earned a Master's of Science in Education from the University of Kentucky, and a Master's of Arts in Education from Western Kentucky University. I also have an undergraduate degree in Corporate Communication from Western Kentucky University. Also, I am in the midst of my eighth year in teaching at Auburn and in a collaboration setting where I teach students in the regular classroom. I also have had four years experience teaching students with moderate/severe disabilities in a self-contained classroom in middle and high school settings.
Personally, I am married to Ms. Sarah Owens who teaches first grade here at Auburn. I also have two daughters who attend here at Auburn as well. Outisde of school, I enjoy reading, officiating football (mostly at the high school level), traveling, being with my family, and working exercise in as much as I can.
