Hello! I'm Sarah Owens and am so proud to be part of Auburn School! I am 36 years old and currently live in Bowling Green with my husband, Josh, and our two daughters, Lydia (7) and Riley Jane (4). My husband is beginning his 8th year at Auburn teaching 6th and 7h grade. My daughter Lydia will be in second grade and Riley Jane will be in preschool. We are so excited to be together at the same school we love again this year!
I am originally from Glasgow, KY where my sister, mother and father have all been teachers in Barren County Schools. I graduated from Western Kentucky University with my Elementary Education certification in 2001, recieved a Masters in Instructional Leadership through Eastern Kentucky University in 2003 and my Rank 1 and National Boards Certification in Literacy in 2005. I taught for six years in Georgetown KY teaching fifth and first grade. I took six years away from the classrom to stay at home with my girls and substitute at Auburn part time. This will be my second year at Auburn as a classroom teacher and my 6th year teaching first graders. I love working with children and teaching them life-long skills! I look forward coming to work each day to help the children grow, both academically and emotionally. Your child's success will be my number one priority and I am ready for a year of exploring, laughter, reading, writing, math, and helping your child develop a love for school and learning.
