Support Services

School-Based Mental Health Care: Students can visit with licensed counselors from Mountain Comprehensive Care while they are at school.  Available for all LCS Students.

Healthy Schools Program: All schools in the district have completed the Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s Healthy Schools Program Assessment to understand where we are as a district in regard to school nutrition and physical activity. View the annual report here.

Family Resource & Youth Service Centers: Our FRYSCs can connect you with local resources such as food pantries. 

Kentucky Farmwork Program: Does your family work in farming in Logan County? You may qualify for the KY Farmwork Program, which provides tutoring, summer camp, and more.

Home/hospital services (formerly knowns as homebound) are available when a student is anticipated to miss 6 or more days of school due to physical health or mental health.   The application must be completed by a medical professional.  Please contact Robbie Davis at robbie.davis@logan.kyschools.us if you have questions.

While there is no limit on the number of times a student can have an absence excused by a doctor, our policies require the medical excuse form after the 10th absence covered by doctor's notes.  The form is linked below. 

Medical Excuse Form

Parents may excuse up to 5 absences with parent notes.   One parent note is used for each absence event.  An event may be a full day absence, half day absence or tardy.

New attendance regulations were enacted for Kentucky students this year.  We are required to report students to the county attorney’s office when they have reached 15 unexcused absences.  (KY Revised Statute 159.140)  

By law, students ages 15 - 17 are ineligible to hold a driver's permit or license if they have 9 or more unexcused absences in the preceding semester. Students must also be passing 4 of 6 courses in the preceding semester.

Special Education Services: Logan County Schools provides many services specific to Special Education. 

Virtual Academy: Does your student learn best online? Logan County Virtual Academy is open to grades 6-12 with enrollment each summer.

Non-Resident Application: Please complete this application if you reside outside of the Logan County School District and are requesting admission for the 2025-2026 school year.  Note:  We are not currently accepting non-resident applications for Auburn School.  

If you live within the Logan County district but are requesting to attend a different elementary/middle school than the one where you reside, please reach out to the school you're requesting.  Note:  We are not currently accepting applications to Auburn School from students outside of the Auburn attendance zone.
